Football~
Okay, I think i'll just give a conclusion to this. At least try to. This is for all Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea fans. So lets go over it once more.
Manchester United
You guys are not going to win the title if you guys don't bring in a quality player, notably a superstar. Ronaldo and Tevez leaving leaves BIG shoes to fill. At the moment, only a few players could fill that gap, Franck Ribery. Get Frank and problems are solved. Missing out in Benzema is another stupid mistake. The boy's got a good physique and can definitely boss the opposition defenders and his finishing is not too shabby. It just came to me the other day, what happens if Wayne Rooney gets injured? From the way I see it, you lot are going to be depending a lot on him. Eversince Roy Keane retired, you guys were missing that commanding presence in the team. Thats where Rooney and formerly Tevez comes in. Those players are ball winning players. So with who do you think will show aggression when Rooney is on the treatment table? Fletcher? Carrick? Anderson? The only bright side to the team is that you guys have the winning mentality.
Liverpool
You lot are deadly when it comes to the offense but defensively, if the opponent gets past Mascherano and Stevie G, its going to be trouble. So get a good center half and then the title is really in sight. Someone like Distin would fit the bill and he's a class player as well. He is a no nonsense defender and is also good when it comes to corners. However, in recent years, Liverpool has this tendency to outscore their opponents to win games. When you look at Chelsea and Manchester United, they tend to win games by one goal or possibly two but when it comes to the Kop, teams normally get raped but honestly I believe the standard of the BPL is improving and so are the other teams, so how long can this "outscoring your opponent" policy go on? Get a center half and possibly David Villa to partner Torres up front, Unstoppable. Kuyt can play in the wings and would do a good job as he doesn't complain, very much like Rooney.
Chelsea
This team is one of the strangest around. If you look at the quality of the side, its really top class but why do they always fail to win the title every season? Why? I believe its the manager. Eversince the humble Jose Mourinho left them, they have been so inconsistent. Avram Grant was crap, Scolari can't speak a word of English, Guus wanted Russian love and Ancelotti..well thats yet to be known. But but, Ancelotti speaks good English, and he has won UCL titles with Milan for so many times so what wrong can he do? If you ask me, this team needs a strict manager so if Ancelotti can keep Drogba quiet for an entire season then anything is possible! Midfielders? Um, Lamps is getting too old I reckon and I once again, I just can't wait to see Zhirkov bombard the wings! Woo!
Okay, lets get detailed!
Goalkeepers : From my honest opinion, Van der Sar is the best compared to Cech and Reina. Eversince Stephen Hunt tried to kill Cech a couple of seasons ago, he's been very lousy at the back. Reina is good when it comes to reflexes and ball distribution but Van der Sar is not only good in reflexes and ball distribution, he's really good when it comes to penalties and aerial. So, Man Utd wins in this department. 1-0-0
Defenders : From the way I see it, Its just between Chelsea and Manchester United. Chelsea has a Terry, Carvalho, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Cole, Ivanovic, Alex and Paulo Ferreira. All of them are inernational players. Man Utd has Rio, Evra, Vidic, Fab, Rafa, Evans, Brown, Neville and a lot of kids. If you ask me, only Vidic, Evra and Rio are worth recognition, the rest are quite reliable but not that good when compared to Chelsea. Lets give Liverpool a shot here. They have Agger, Skrtel, Carra, Johnson, Aurelio, Dossena, Degen and Insua. If you ask me, I think they have only ONE established center half. Carragher. Lol. This just proves that the team is extremely attacking minded. However, I would give points for all 3 teams here. Defenders must work well with their goalkeepers, so with Van der Saar at the back, Man Utd is safe. Chelsea's defense is top class while Liverpool's attacking minded approach makes counter attacking a perfect solution to their defensive problems. 2-1-1
Midfielders : When it comes to this department, I feel the 2 most important factors are aggresion and distribution. When it comes to aggresion, Chelsea has Essien, Mikel and Ballack while Liverpool has Mascherano and Gerrard. Manchester United has um no one to be honest. Fletcher and Carrick are distribution players. So thats points for both Chelsea and Liverpool. Okay, distribution. Liverpool and Manchester United takes full points for this. Chelsea relies a lot on Lamps here and Deco is not as good as he was when he was in Barcelona. They have a lot of ball winners but they can't send the ball forward while Man United have pin point passing midfield generals in the form of Scholes and Carrick but Liverpool's Stevie Gerrard outshines everyone here. This guy can make a pass from any angle and from practically anywhere. Mascherano is good as well and Riera has proven to be quite a menace when he has the ball.
With that said, heres the score. 3-2-3
Forwards : Drogba and Anelka are deadly so they will get points for this but with the poor distribution from their midfielders, it will be a problem. So a point for the Blues! and besides, they've got no backup, Sheva and Pizzaro have other plans in mind anyways. The Kop has Fernando Torres, I personally would give him 2 points but I'm not going to as I think the team might depend too much on him. Kuyt is a good ball winner/distribution player and Babel is a good backup for the team. He can play in the wings and also up front. Rooney leads the Devils in this department as he is an all rounder. A ball winner/distribution/powerful striker. Berbatov adds a touch of class to the front line but his laziness is going to be a pain in the ass for Fergie. I'm stuck here but I think because of the overall attacking minded approach of the entire squad, Liverpool gets 2 points for this category while Chelsea and Man Utd get one each. Face it, Liverpool can grab a goal from anywhere and without Ronaldo, Manchester United lacks firepower. 4-3-5
However, as we all know. Football is not won on paper. On paper, Liverpool looks the stronger side but like I've said before, Man Utd has the winning mentality and that means a lot when it comes to the BPL. So half a point for the Devils! 4 1/2-3-5
